Before Pregnancy

The best start for your baby begins right now, before you are pregnant. There are many things you can do to give your baby the best possible start.

Preconception Health

Planning for your pregnancy will help you have a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

Folic Acid & Vitamins

While the causes of most birth defects are not known, there are ways women can reduce the risks. One important way simply involves taking a multi-vitamin containing folic acid.

Where to find help

Several agencies, besides Baby Your Baby, have a variety of services available to assist a woman through pregnancy, at childbirth and while the child is dependent on the parent.

Choosing a Health Care Provider

Choosing a health plan can be confusing. Baby Your Baby will help you learn how Utah's Health Management Organizations can help with your special needs.

When to See Your Health Care Provider

Make an appointment to see your health care provider at least three months before you plan to start trying to become pregnant. Tell your provider that you are planning to become pregnant. He or she will give you a physical examination that focuses on finding any problems that might keep you from conceiving or that might endanger your health or the health of your baby.
